If you're self employed taking time off work due to injury can have a devastating financial effect; avoid this by seeing a physical therapist every once in a while to help prevent any overuse injuries, especially if your job is a physical one!
If you have a physical job, taking time off due to a preventable injury can be extremely frustrating and it often means you will go back to work before your body has fully recovered, this can lead to the problem having a long term effect on your health.
Even if your job isn’t physical, a desk job can cause different injuries. For example, repetitive strain, carpal tunnel syndrome and shoulder and neck pain. All these injuries can be prevented with simple adjustments to your seated position, which can be worked out with your physical therapist.

You don’t even have to have an injury or any aches and pains to see a physical therapist! Going to see someone before the onset of pain means you can get a general ‘MOT’ to check for any underlying issues, predisposing factors and get advice on how to prevent overuse injuries at work.
It’s also nice to get a massage once in a while to work out those kinks and help take away any stress you may be holding in your shoulders.
